Over years, SIP has created a one of the world's largest patent databases (Search4ip). This database comprises more than 100 million patents and is based on the bibliographic data of the DOCDB of the European Patent Office (EPO). This data is supplemented by full texts of more than 25 countries, images and drawings and the INPADOC legal status data. PDF full texts are also available. The database is set up patent-based. Family information is available and a limitation to the INPADOC family is possible.

There is also an option to search in machine translations of specific offices (Japan, Korea, China, Russia). This is an additional feature of the Invention Navigator Plus version.
