Citation Search

During the course of a grant procedure, when filing applications and in other patent procedures, patents representing the state of the art are often cited for opposition or are often found by the examiner during an examination. Use these patents to find additional keywords, classes and to view patents relevant for the topic. Identify competitors and also use names to improve your researches.
It is also interesting to know which companies cite their own patents. Find out with one simple mouse click. At a glance you can also see which patents are cited of a patent or of the entire patent family.

Just select the patent or more patents in the title list (Ctrl or Shift and mouse click, Ctrl A for all patents in the list) and then click on the Citations button. A new window will open. In this window select whether you would like to view the citing patents (i.e. patents citing the IP right) and/or the citations (i.e. citing the patent itself). By checking/unchecking the box Patent Family you can chose if you want to only search for the citations of the patent specification or all family members. With “Level” you decide, whether you only want displayed the directly cited or citing patents or also patents which cite them again.

As a result you will receive another title list.
