Assign and remove patents from folders

When viewing results, one of the crucial tasks is to file relevant patents in the respective folders. This way you create a knowledge network with relevant patents for specified topics. You can also create a list with not-relevant patents in order to exclude them from your result list (e.g. after a search).

Assign and remove from result list

There are two ways to assign from the title list. Select the results to be moved to a folder by mouse click or Ctrl + mouse click or Shift + mouse click or Ctrl A, as known from Windows. Now use drag and drop to move the selected results in the respective folder. If you move the results into a family-based folder, the entire family will be moved into the folder. If you move the results into a SIP-patent-based folder, only the SIP-patent displayed in the title list will be moved into the folder.

A loading circle shows you the progress of the assignment into a folder. Once the patent has been assigned the folder title will turn blue and all assigned SIP-patents are changed to “read”.

An alternative to using drag and drop is to right click on the folder in which you would like to copy the previously selected results. Attention! This is only possible in the assignment tree (symbol with the blue arrow).

You can remove results from a folder by holding down Ctrl. The blue arrow will change its colour to red. Now right click on the folder and the results will be removed from the folder.

Also applicable here: with SIP-patent based folders only the selected SIP-patent will be removed. With family-based folders the entire patent family will be removed.
